WELCOME!

I am a Ph.D candidate in Danforth lab, interested in systematics and evolution of native bees. Currently, my research focuses on understanding the evolution of floral choices of bees from the tribe Emphorini (Apidae) - a group of pollen specialist bees.

I'm originally from Bogota, Colombia, where I got my B.Sc.in Biology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Here is where my passion about native bees started.
Then I moved to Mexico City, where I pursued my Master's degree at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). During my Master’s studies, I had the opportunity to learn more about systematics and taxonomy. For my thesis I revised the neotropical species of a subgenus of small carpenter bees (Ceratina).

In my free time I like watching movies and hiking. I also love cats.

Always willing to collaborate. Do not hesitate to contact me!
